This week we have been learning about the British artist and sculptor Dame Jocelyn Barbara Hepworth DBE (1903 - 1975). Her work exemplifies Modernism and in particular modern sculpture.
Using her work as inspiration and the natural materials found on our grounds, the children then re-created their own 'Family of Man' sculptures expressing their own families.
They had a great time, especially as the sun was shining, and some found it quite a challenge to create art in an abstract form.
