This term in Design Technology, we have been learning all about bridges. We have had a lot of fun completing challenges; looking at the different types of construction and their effectiveness when designing bridges and deciding which designs work best for particular roles.

The children had their home learning challenge which was to complete research of bridges around the world and also the brief of creating a bridge using recycled materials.

As always, my children are astounding! They always complete their tasks by their deadline; present their work directly to the class with increasing confidence and never cease to amaze me with their effort (even though it is the penultimate day before we break up for Christmas).

A huge thank you too to parents who have supported their children and helped them to make design decisions and taken part in the challenge. These interactions are invaluable and all my children have been chatting about how much they enjoyed making these bridges at home.

All children received a gold award with an individual comment. Raffles achieved a Diamond award for his creation of 'The Golden Gate Bridge.'

Have a great Christmas everyone.

Below are photos of their designs - enjoy!
